Blue cloth covers with silver lettering and decoration. vi + 263 pages. Spine strip has darkened slightly and shelf wear to spine ends. All edges untrimmed. Small piece missing from head of title page (no text affected). End papers have darkened but text block is very clean. Binding square and tight. "In the folowing Sidelights, an effort, however, feeble, has been made to draw a true picture of some of those of all ranks who have had the honour to serve their Queen". Pseudonym of Edward Arthur Haggard brother of H. Rider Haggard. A most attractive copy of this now extremely hard-to-find title.
