Bound in blue cloth with black decoration and gilt lettering to spine. 352 pages plus publisher's adverts. Binding is a little shaken, light foxing to edges and darkening to endpapers, spine strip is lightly faded, but text block is clean. A perfectly acceptable reading copy of this book which tells of the failed attempt of an American millionaire to buy his way into English society, the golden butterfly of the title is his lucky charm - a piece of quartz marked with the exact form of a butterfly.
