Published originally in the UK in 1941 to give a picture of Greece as she then was - the author had lived in Athens in the shadow of the Great War, and saw how it faced its subsequent problems with courage and resolution - this courage came to be tested again with the six month Italian campaign and in 1941 the invasion by Germany - at the time of writing the country was still occupied and knew not what fresh tribulations her people would have to endure. This American edition published in 1943 has a new chapter written after Greece had endured nearly two years under occupation. Good clean hardback - though pages are slightly wavy. Unclipped dustjacket has loss to top and base of spine and rear corner. 211 pages including index. Prompt dispatch.
